Contribution Manager

About Contribution Manager

Contribution Manager was built by Allen Brown Consulting Ltd in 2005 as a pro bono project for a group of small charities and is now being offered to a wider audience.  The aim of the software is to do a specific job in a simple and straightforward fashion, to do it well and to do it cost-effectively.

About Allen Brown Consulting

Allen Brown has been earning his keep around the web since 1999 but only formed his own company in 2005 after working for a succession of large consultancies.  Along the way, he’s helped companies such as BP, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Credit Suisse and Chevron with their web communication.

The idea for Contribution Manager came from Susan Brown, Allen’s wife and business partner, who performed the Gift Aid administration for a large London church on a voluntary basis.  Susan wanted other UK charities to be able to take advantage of what she’d learnt about Gift Aid, especially the need to share information between administrators and the need for meticulous record keeping to support tax claims.  Small charities would also need something very simple and straightforward.  A web approach seemed an obvious solution and Contribution Manager soon took form.

Contribution Manager could also have maintained names and address, done mailshots, collected credit card payments online and organised your dry cleaning.  It doesn’t.  Simple and straightforward.
